investigation on public spaces

For a long time, the unequal use of space according to our gender has remained unnoticed. Women have been denied from occupations in political, cultural and economic spaces, across nationalities, social classes and age groups.

interviews

Missing Women is a research on the issues that women and gender minorities are facing in the society. This was done through a series of interviews conducted in Goa, where the subjects could share how they perceived the space around them. It was followed by a small exercise that allowed them to access their inner space. They were asked to envision themselves in a self-created space that could either be a manifestation of a long awaited desire, a memory or a figment of their imagination. The entire experience was documented through videos and portraits.
